Frequently Asked Questions

Tell us about yourself and your family, how long you have lived in the area and your occupation.

When asked to describe myself, the first thing that comes to mind is that I am a mother. My husband and I have a blended family of five children, and my oldest, who is now 15 and lives with type 1 diabetes, has truly helped shape the person I am today. Navigating the challenges and responsibilities that come with managing his health has taught me patience, resilience, and what it means to be a devoted, proactive parent.

Professionally, I serve as the Payroll and Benefits Clerk for Elmore County, working directly under the current County Clerk. In this role as well as my previous role as the Floater for the Clerk and Treasurer, I've gained hands-on experience with the inner workings of the office, from financial responsibilities to personnel processes, and I’ve developed a strong understanding of the demands and duties that come with serving the public. I'm passionate about continuing to grow in public service and bringing both compassion and professionalism to the Clerk’s office.

What is the purpose of government?

The purpose of government is to protect the rights and freedoms of its citizens, provide law and order, and create a stable framework where individuals, families, and businesses can thrive. At its core, government should serve the people—not to control them. It exists to uphold the Constitution, defend individual liberty, enforce the rule of law, and ensure public safety.

At the local level especially, government should be responsive, transparent, and fiscally responsible. It’s about meeting the needs of the community while preserving personal freedoms and encouraging personal responsibility. I believe the government works best when it stays accountable to the people and stays within its proper, limited role.

Describe why you are running for this position. What are your qualifications? What are your goals and how will you achieve them?

I'm running for Elmore County Clerk because I care deeply about this community and believe I can bring steady, responsible leadership to the office, especially during these uncertain times. With my personal and professional experiences, I understand the importance of accountability, efficient government, and fiscal responsibility.

Professionally, I’ve worked in two roles under the current County Clerk, giving me hands-on experience with financial operations, personnel processes, and the day-to-day responsibilities of the office. I’ve seen what it takes to manage taxpayer dollars with integrity and transparency, and I’m ready to take that responsibility to the next level.

My goal is to continue building a Clerk’s Office that is efficient, accurate, and fiscally responsible, while serving the public with professionalism, respect, and humility. I believe in clear communication, data-driven decisions, and always looking for ways to streamline operations without sacrificing service. I’ll achieve this by relying on the experience I already have, listening to the needs of county departments and the public, and staying grounded in my commitment to good governance.
